The undulating human form is captured through still frames of a lens to share the bittersweet story of how life ends and also begins again.

Preparation //
Behind the scenes warming up before poses and before applying body paint.
Destruction //
Smoke is evidence of the end of life; bombs, crashes, the
barrel end of a handgun. As the subject embodies this
obliteration — smoke manifests, eyes shut, neck distorts,
so death may become her.
Cultivation //
From the ashes of destruction, life will rise. Taking up air and space,
the subject becomes open and vulnerable to the elements, so life
may flourish from her roots. Life becomes her and life is new again.
